Members set their own birthday; mira announces it and optionally grants a role for 24 hours.

Aliases: bday, bd. Dates are flexible — March 14, 14 March, 3/14 and 14/03 all parse. The year is never stored, so nobody’s age is exposed. Birthdays fire in the member’s timezone if they’ve set one, otherwise the server’s.

Setting it up

Pick an announcement channel

Requires Manage Channels.

Add a role for the day (optional)

Granted at midnight, removed 24 hours later. Requires Manage Roles.

Write the message (optional)

Requires Manage Messages. Full script support.
Shows the channel, role and message. Requires Manage Server.
Give the birthday role a bright colour and hoist it, so the person shows up at the top of the member list all day. It’s a small thing people genuinely like.
